Plant-based softgels are harder to make than gelatin ones. The hydroxypropyl starch gel is more viscous and forms a weaker initial seam, and it needs higher process temperatures held to a tight window. AMYLOM’s line is built for that gel. Below is each stage of the process.
Encapsulation die-press
Twin rotating dies press the gelatin-free shell ribbon around the fill, forming and sealing each softgel in a single pass.
Automated encapsulation line
Precision metering pumps dose the fill as the line runs automatically. It holds the temperature and timing that plant-based gel needs for a consistent seam.
AMYLOM (Amylom Biotechnology) engineers softgel production lines around hydroxypropyl starch properties, sized from lab to commercial scale. See our equipment line-up or talk to our team.
