A cosmetic serum softgel in deep purple, filmed from the encapsulation line to the hand: the tinted shell ribbons going over the rollers, capsules dropping onto the conveyor, then a pair of finished capsules up close.
The color is in the gel mass
The gel mass is tinted while it is still fluid, so by the time it is cast into ribbons the color runs through the full thickness of the shell. The opening seconds of the clip show the ribbons already purple as they reach the die rolls, and the capsules dropping onto the conveyor are the same purple.
The shell is AMYLOM® Natural, a hydroxypropyl starch base blended with a plant gel, with no animal gelatin. The same base can be tinted to other shades; an earlier cosmetic sample run tinted it green.
When the capsule is the product on display
For a cosmetic capsule the shell is part of the presentation, so its color and surface get judged along with the serum inside. In the last few seconds the two capsules on the glove are glossy, with the purple even across the shell.
AMYLOM (Amylom Biotechnology) manufactures plant-based softgels with gelatin-free hydroxypropyl starch shells, for supplements, cosmetics, and specialty formats. See our softgel capabilities or talk to our team about a plant-based soft capsule in your brand color.
